Did you know that a rare lichen grows in our region, the presence of which indicates the purity of the atmosphere? We are talking about pulmonary lobaria. It is known that it grows only in places with good ecology. The plant is listed in the Red Book, since due to a large list of medicinal properties and general sensitivity to environmental pollution, the population of Lobaria pulmonale is constantly declining.

Employees of the Urzhum forestry photographed this rare lichen. The shape of lobaria is similar to small bushes or delicate leaves of a rich emerald color, and has a delicate velvety texture.
