ESPN reporter Salvador Rodriguez has some news regarding potential fights for the WBC middleweight champion. Carlos Adames with the WBO/IBF belt holder Zhanibek Alimkhanuly and mandatory applicant Hamza Shirazreports Sports.kz.
The day before, American insider Steve Kim wrote that Adames and Shiraz agreed to fight on February 22. Carlos himself later denied this information.
“Carlos Adames told me that they still want to fight Zhanibek Alimkhanuly, and his promoter even sent him an offer, but they did not respond. As for the fight with Hamza Shiraz, then, according to him, it has not yet been done, since the contracts have not yet been signed,” Rodriguez wrote on the social network X.
