A 101-year-old princess, daughter-in-law of the infamous Hirohito, has died in Japan.
The Japanese imperial family is dying out, literally and figuratively.
In Japan, the oldest representative of the local imperial house, Princess Yuriko, died at the age of 101. The Independent reports this.
Yuriko was born on June 4, 1923, and in 1941 she became the wife of Prince Takahito, the younger brother of the infamous Emperor Hirohito, who ruled Japan during World War II. At the time of her death in a Tokyo hospital on November 15, 2024, Princess Yuriko was the oldest living member of the Imperial House of Japan.
In March, Yuriko suffered a stroke and pneumonia. Since then I have been in intensive care and have not left it. Her general condition has worsened over the past week. The cause of death has not been officially announced…
