Ross Osborne was born on October 30, 1920 in South Shields. She worked at a local biscuit factory before moving to a tobacco factory. During the Second World War she moved to Manchester and then returned north to work for a delivery company and a department store.
During this time, Ross married the love of her life, Edwin, in 1943, and they had a son, Norman. Ross also has two grandchildren, one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
