A “blue moon” occurs when two full moons occur in one calendar month. Instead, a “black moon” means two new moons in one month. This year's “black moon” will take place on December 30 at 4:26 p.m. Central Standard Time. Thus, for America it will happen on December 30, and for Europe, Africa and Asia – already on December 31.
