Grand Theft Hamlet, the first film shot entirely in GTA Online, is preparing to premiere in US cinemas. This is an adaptation of Shakespeare's classic Hamlet, but in a very unusual setting and setting.
During the 2021 quarantine, actors Sam Crane and Mark Ustwerven decided to brighten up the forced isolation in an unusual way: they tried to stage Hamlet directly in GTA Online. Thus was born the idea for a feature-length documentary, which has already won several awards and has an impressive 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Back in the spring, at the SXSW festival, the film took home the prize for best documentary, and its co-authors, Sam Crane and director Pinny Grylls, were recognized at the British Independent Film Awards. Home…
