A powerful magnetic storm will cover the Earth on November 29 — Science and IT
Power grids, satellite systems and radio communications may fail.
A coronal mass ejection (CME) caused by a filament explosion near solar region 3901 is approaching Earth. It will reach our planet at the end of November 28 (UTC), which may cause a geomagnetic storm of moderate intensity G2 on November 29.
The watcher writes about it.
NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) warns that G2 storms could cause fluctuations in power grids, particularly at high latitudes, and adversely affect satellites by reducing orientation accuracy and increasing atmospheric drag in low orbits. In addition, there may be disruption of high-frequency radio communication, especially in the northern regions.
It will be recalled that the Earth's axis has shifted by 80 cm. Scientists pointed to the main reason.
