The prosecution will ask for a preventive measure in the form of detention for the deputy.
Shevchenko was charged with treason under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
We will remind, on November 7, People's Deputy Yevhen Shevchenko called on the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to start negotiations with Russia.
“It's time, Comrade President, to start a dialogue. I understand that after this you will have to leave. But the country is more important than personal ambitions,” he wrote.
Shevchenko also said that “we need to end the political persecution” of people's deputies.
