A resident of Zuevka may go to jail due to illegal fishing

In the Kirov region, a court will consider a case of illegal extraction of biological resources. The regional transport police department reported on the investigation.

In October 2024, in the Zuevsky district on the Cheptse River, police caught a fisherman on a boat. He was suspected of using illegal fishing methods. The assumptions were confirmed: a 55-year-old Zuev resident placed nets on the river, thanks to which he caught 66 fish of three species at once.

The loot and illegal nets were seized. A criminal case was opened against the man for illegal fishing of aquatic biological resources. The damage to the natural resource potential of the Kirov region amounted to more than 35 thousand rubles. The case has been sent to court. The fisherman faces up to two years in prison.
