In the Omutninsky district, police are investigating a case of fraud on an especially large scale. Details of the crime were shared by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kirov region.

A resident of the Omutninsky district was looking for a part-time job online and received an offer from a stranger who introduced himself as an employee of an investment company. He promised that the applicant would become a millionaire. To do this, it was only necessary to “place funds on an electronic platform,” the police say.

The man made a trial attempt for 200 thousand rubles and saw that the numbers in his personal account were growing. After that, only an empty pocket could stop him. However, the telephone curator incited the victim to borrow from friends and take out loans, saying that the final profit in any case would be greater than any costs.
