Against which diseases vaccines need to be urgently developed: WHO has published a list

The list includes HIV, malaria and tuberculosis.

The World Health Organization (WHO) presented the first global list of endemic pathogens and emphasized the need for urgent development of vaccines against them.

The organization announced this on its official website.

Among the main threats are HIV, malaria and tuberculosis, which take the lives of 2.5 million people in the world every year. The list also includes group A streptococcus and Klebsiella pneumoniae, whose resistance to antibiotics makes them particularly dangerous.

Kate O'Brien, director of WHO's immunization division, emphasized that new vaccines are often created based on potential profit, rather than real impact on people's lives.
