In the Netherlands, police have resorted to a creative but slightly creepy way to find the culprit. On one of the streets of Amsterdam, a murder victim “personally” asked passers-by for help in solving the case, writes The Washington Post.

In 2009, a 19-year-old girl named Bernadette Szabo was found dead in her “workroom” in the red light district of Amsterdam. She was stabbed dozens of times, but investigators were never able to find the culprit, and Szabo's murder remained unsolved.

However, Dutch investigators are convinced that witnesses who could shed light on the murder actually exist. To find them, the police resorted to a very unusual method. With permission…
