An industrial accident in Pizhanka resulted in amputation of the left hand

In the Kirov region, details of an incident that occurred with an employee while chopping wood became known. The results of the investigation were shared by the regional State Labor Inspectorate.

It was established that on October 22, a 39-year-old man was seriously injured at one of the timber processing enterprises in the Pizhansky district. A sprat fell in the splitting zone in the wood splitter. With his left hand, the employee decided to put it in place, and with his right hand he pressed the pusher drive lever. By tragic accident, the left hand remained in the danger zone. The mechanism was activated and the left hand was amputated.
