An unknown disease in Congo has killed more than 140 people – Health

Infected people experience flu-like symptoms, including high fever, severe headaches and cough. Cases of the disease were recorded in the Panzi region, where a medical team was sent to collect samples and conduct tests to identify the disease.

The situation is extremely alarming as the number of infections continues to rise, said civil society leader Seforien Manzanza. In Panzi there are problems with the supply of medicines, sick people die in their own homes due to lack of treatment.

A local epidemiologist said the disease hits women and children hardest.
