Archaeological discoveries – a cache of weapons and unique chain mail dating back 1,500 years was found in Denmark – UNIAN

Experts believe the 1,500-year-old collection, large enough to equip a small army, may have been a “sacrifice” or offering.

Danish archaeologists have found a cache of more than 100 weapons under the home of an Iron Age leader.

“The large number of weapons is amazing, but what's most fascinating is how they provide a glimpse into the social structure and daily life of the Iron Age. We suddenly feel very close to the people who lived here 1,500 years ago,” commented Vejle Museum archaeologist Elias Witte Thomasen, who led the excavations, writes livescience.
