An archaeologist searching for the lost tomb of Cleopatra VII has made an “important” discovery directly related to the queen of Egypt. The Daily Mail reports this.

Kathleen Martinez, who has been searching for the tomb for nearly 20 years, says she has found a statue that likely depicts the real face of the queen who ruled Egypt from 51 to 30 BC. The head of the statue, made of white marble, depicts a woman with a small nose, pouting lips and hair braided around her head.

Martinez and her team also found 337 coins depicting Cleopatra, as well as quite a few pottery, oil lamps, figurines and other artifacts. All this was buried in the temple of Taposiris Magna, which was excavated…
