Are the Germans ready for world war – UNIAN
The Commissioner called for the recruitment of Bundeswehr personnel.
The operational readiness of many military units of the German Armed Forces is only 50%; in light of existing threats, this is not enough.
This statement was made by Parliamentary Commissioner for Armed Forces Eva Hegl, ntv reports. A representative of the Social Democratic Party calls for more efforts to be made in recruiting Bundeswehr personnel – about 20 thousand people are missing from the figure of 203 thousand soldiers:
“In addition, many positions are not filled. And the actual level of combat readiness in many units is only about 50%. This is clearly not enough.”
