The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that the implementation of agreements regarding the supply of air defense systems to the country is necessary. They were promised at the NATO summit as compensation for the impossibility of inviting Ukraine to the Alliance.
The head of state said this during an address to the summit of the countries participating in the Joint Expeditionary Force.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine needs full implementation of agreements on the supply of air defense systems, in particular those reached at the NATO summit in Washington.
“We remember that as compensation for the impossibility of inviting Ukraine to the Alliance at that stage, we were promised a significant number of air defense systems. I am asking for your help to make it happen,” the president urged.
He added that the partners know that Ukraine needs 12-15 more systems in addition to these in order to fully protect itself from Russian missile attacks.
