Assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Slovakia has been reduced
Changes in the amount of assistance will not affect only vulnerable social groups.
In Slovakia, amendments to immigration laws were adopted, which reduce state support for Ukrainian refugees from March 1, 2025.

Changes in the legislation limit the period of stay in temporary refugee accommodation centers to 60 days (instead of the current 120 days). In addition, housing assistance will only be provided for the first 60 days after arrival.
These changes will not affect only vulnerable social groups – pensioners over the age of 65, children under five and their guardians.
