On press conference with the participation of the head coach of the Ukrainian national team Sergey Rebrova and the forward of “blue and yellow” Roman Yaremchuk before the match the last 6th round of the group round of the League of Nations of the 2024/25 season against Albania, there was an embarrassment due to the Russian language.
As the VZBIRNA Telegram channel reports, the translator provided by the Albanian football federation wanted to translate questions to representatives of the Ukrainian national team into Russian.
The Ukrainians categorically refused this. As a result, the translation was carried out exclusively from Albanian to English.
After the press conference, the representative of the football federation of Albania explained that they considered it “the best solution, because the Russian language is similar to Ukrainian.”
