Attacks on journalists increased in 2024 – World
In total, over the past 20 years, about 1,700 journalists have been killed in the world, the most in the period from 2012 to 2015.
A report by the international organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) recorded an alarming increase in attacks on journalists in 2024, especially in conflict zones, which accounted for half of the murders of journalists recorded this year.
This was reported by the press service of the organization.
“The number of journalists killed while covering conflict zones around the world — in Iraq, Sudan, Myanmar, Ukraine and in the Gaza war zone — has reached a five-year high,” the report said.
According to RSF, Gaza has become the most dangerous region for journalists: almost 30% of journalists who have died in the course of their duties have been in the Gaza Strip.
Asia remains the second region with the highest number of deaths…
