The developers of NieR: Automata announced that global sales of the action game have exceeded nine million copies. At the beginning of the year, the figure was eight million; in just 10 months, the game attracted another million players.
The authors spoke about this on their social networks, emphasizing that both digital sales and physical publications were taken into account. Such long-term interest in the project remains partly due to frequent discounts: since its release in February 2017, NieR: Automata often appears on sales at a reduced price.
