US President Joe Biden paid tribute to the victims of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
“91 years ago, Joseph Stalin and the Soviet regime instigated the Holodomor, a violent and deliberate famine that killed millions of Ukrainians. We also honor the Holodomor survivors and their descendants who, despite Stalin's efforts to suppress Ukrainian national identity, built a free, independent and a democratic Ukraine,” Biden said in a statement, Voice of America reports.
