Power outages in Ukraine in winter can last 4-6 hours a day. However, this is on the condition that there will be frosts of -15 degrees.
Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Research Center, told “RBK-Ukraine” about this.
The expert described the scenario under which electricity will be cut off in Ukraine in winter:
“There are several variants of meteorological forecast scenarios in which there are two to two and a half weeks of frost at -15. So if this happens, then indeed in this case there will definitely be blackouts.”
At the same time, Kharchenko emphasized that blackouts “will not be an apocalypse”: the duration will reach 4-6 hours per day. But these shutdowns will be absolutely necessary to keep the system in a stable state.
