If temperatures remain below zero in winter, power cuts may be introduced in Ukraine. This statement was made by the director of the Center for Energy Research, Alexander Kharchenko.
“There are several options for meteorological forecast scenarios, in which there are 2-2.5 weeks of frost down to -15. Now, if this happens, then indeed in this case there will definitely be blackouts,” he told the RBC-Ukraine YouTube channel.
According to Kharchenko, such shutdowns “will not be an apocalypse.” They will last 4-6 hours a day.
The expert noted that such outages will be necessary to maintain system stability.
