The man married his third cousin in order to go abroad.
This was reported by the State Border Service of Ukraine.
“At the Rava-Ruska checkpoint, border guards discovered a 24-year-old woman with a disability of the II group, who married her 22-year-old third cousin. The “couple” crossed the border late in the evening on a regular bus,” the message reads.
At first, the husband said that they were going to Warsaw to introduce his “wife” to his parents. When he realized that his true intentions were exposed, he told the truth.
“The couple got married in mid-November, and the woman's mother was to receive the reward for such a service, which amounted to between 2 and 5 thousand US dollars,” border guards say.
