Capitol police arrest man with torch and flare gun – World


In America, the day of the presidential election is underway.

Capitol security officers have just arrested a man who was stopped during a background check at the Capitol Visitor Center ahead of the US presidential election.

This is stated in a message from the Capitol Police on social networks.

“The man smelled of fuel, he had a torch and a signal weapon,” the message reads.

The Capitol Visitor Center is closed to tours for the day while police investigate.

“We will provide more information when we can,” the security forces added.
