Changing the phone number resulted in a Kirov resident losing 3 million rubles

In Kirov, police are establishing the circumstances of the theft of a large sum of money. The crime was reported in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kirov region.

A 28-year-old resident of Kirov contacted law enforcement officers. The man complained that unknown people took out a loan in his name. The remote loan was satisfied, the attacker transferred all the funds received to his account. The amount of damage amounted to 2 million 933 thousand rubles.

As it turned out, in 2021, a Kirov resident purchased a new SIM card, but happily forgot about the old number for three years. All this time, the bank’s online account remained linked to the owner’s previous data. The new owner of the number was able to gain access to the victim’s services and used this for personal gain.
