China has built a prototype nuclear reactor designed for a large surface warship. This was reported by the Associated Press, citing official Chinese documents and analysis of satellite images.
“Nuclear-powered aircraft carriers would put China in an exclusive group with top-notch naval powers currently limited to the United States and France,” says Tong Zhao, a fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
