City Duma deputies want to rename seven central streets in Kirov on November 26

Discussions are taking place in Kirov on the issue of renaming a number of streets. This was reported in the press center of the city administration.

On Tuesday, November 26, a meeting of the council on toponymy was held in Kirov. Its members discussed the initiative of a group of City Duma deputies who spoke in favor of renaming several streets:

• Volodarsky – to Nikitskaya;
• Uritsky – to Uspenskaya;
• Rosa Luxemburg – to Morozovskaya;
• Derendyaev – to All Saints,
• MOPR – to Ostrozhnaya;
• Maklina – to Butyrskaya;
• Karl Marx – to Vladimirskaya.

Deputy Denis Erokhin, one of the initiators of toponymic transformations, said that the return of historical names also has a practical meaning: in this way the issue of duplicating street names in the Novovyatsky district of the city can be resolved.
