Current iPhones 2024 – Apple removes iPhone 14 and SE 3 from sale – UNIAN

The company does not plan to re-equip already released smartphones with a USB-C port, but will simply stop their sales.

Apple will prematurely stop selling some iPhone models that were considered relevant until recently. In particular, we are talking about the iPhone SE 3 and iPhone 14/14 Plus, reports 9to5Mac.

The company is forced to take these measures because from January 2025, requirements will come into force in the EU that oblige equipment manufacturers to sell smartphones exclusively with a USB-C charging port.

Currently, the oldest Lightning phones still sold directly through Apple are the iPhone SE 2022, iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus. Sources learned that the company does not plan to re-release the above models with a new port, but will simply stop their sales in Europe – this will happen before the end of 2024.
