Damage to the Kurakhiv reservoir dam – details from OVA
The water level in the Vovcha River within the Velikonovosilkiv community rose by 1.2 m.
As a result of damage by Russian troops to the dam of the Kurakhiv Reservoir, there is a threat to residents of settlements on the Vovcha River.
This was announced by the head of Donetsk OVA, Vadym Filashkin.
“The Russians damaged the dam of the Kurakhiv Reservoir. This blow potentially carries threat to residents of settlements on the Vovchii River – both in Donetsk region and in Dnipro region“, Filashkin said in his statement.
As of 4:00 p.m., it was established that the water level in the Vovcha River within the Velikonovosilkiv community rose by 1.2 m. Flooding of housing has not been recorded so far.
The head of the OVA informed about the continuation of the monitoring of the water level in the river and assured of readiness for any development of events.
