Tomorrow, December 1, in the Orthodox calendar the day of commemoration of the holy prophet Nahum. The holy prophet Nahum is one of the twelve minor prophets of the Old Testament, whose prophecies became part of the Book of Nahum in the Bible. Very little is known about his life, and most information is based on belief and historical tradition. Nahum was a prophet, probably from the city of Elkosha (or Askosha), which was located in the region that now corresponds to southern Israel or northern Iraq. He lived and prophesied around the 7th century BC, probably during the reign of the Assyrians.
