Tomorrow, December 29, in the Orthodox calendar the day of remembrance of the holy children killed in Bethlehem. After the birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem to bow to the newborn King of the Jews. Having learned about this, King Herod, fearing to lose the throne, decided to destroy a potential contender for power. He asked the wise men to tell him the place of the baby's birth, but they, having received God's sign in a dream, returned home by a different road.
