Russian BMD-3s did not reach the front for a year, experts explained what happened to them.

In the fall of 2023, Russia removed the rare BMD-3 from conservation, of which there were just over 100 units. However, more than one year has passed since that moment, but not a single vehicle has been recorded in battles against the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They are practically not mentioned, writes Defense Express.

Production of the BMD-3 is reported to have taken place between 1990 and 1997. A total of 137 vehicles were produced, although the original plan provided for 700 units per year. However, the production and maintenance of airborne combat vehicles turned out to be too expensive.
