Now in Ukraine there is a dangerous ratio between the number of births and deaths. For every hundred newborns, there are almost three times as many deaths.
In Ukraine, there is a dangerous ratio between the number of births and deaths. There are 286 deaths per 100 births – this is a bad result.
This assessment was given on the air of Ukrainian Radio by Alexander Gladun, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Institute of Demography and Quality of Life Problems. But, according to him, during a war it is very difficult to expect anything better.
“The situation is serious, but not hopeless. It is necessary to take action, although it is very difficult to do this during a war. After the war there must be a very active demographic policy,” the specialist expressed his conviction.
