Denis Gorbunenko's lawyers will challenge the imposition of sanctions against him in the UK
The banker was not informed of the decision to sanction him or the reasons for this decision, and he was not given the opportunity to respond to the accusations, his defense notes.
Lawyers for banker Denis Gorbunenko will appeal the decision to include him in the sanctions list introduced by the UK. This is stated in the official statement of the businessman’s lawyers, published on his official website.
Gorbunenko came under British sanctions at the same time as businessman Dmitry Firtash. The UK government website claims he engaged in “corruption” on behalf of Firtash, but Gorbunenko, who was chairman of Rodovid Bank from July 2004 to January 2009, views the allegations as unfounded.
