Denmark sharply increases defense spending on Greenland after Trump's announcement
Trump previously said that Greenland is absolutely necessary for America.
The Danish government has announced a significant increase in defense spending for Greenland. This decision was made just a few hours after Donald Trump expressed his desire to annex the island to the United States, the BBC reports.
According to Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, they plan to spend an additional “double-digit amount of billions” of kroner on the defense of Greenland, that is, at least $1.5 billion. Although the minister did not indicate the exact amount of expenses, some Danish media write that we are talking about 12-15 billion crowns.
