Deputies of the Kirov Legislative Assembly adopted a law banning inducement to abortion

In the Kirov region, a ban is being introduced on inducing a woman to undergo an artificial termination of pregnancy. The corresponding bill was considered by deputies of the Legislative Assembly.

On Thursday, December 19, the regional parliament considered an initiative to ban the promotion of abortion. The authors of the idea complained that every year in the Kirov region, due to the reluctance of women to give birth, more than a thousand children are not born. This is despite the fact that the number of abortions over four years fell from 13.4 cases per thousand women (in 2019) to 7.3 cases (in 2023).
