Former Secretary General “Besiktas”Kaan Shakul said that in the summer he agreed with “Zenith” about the transfer of midfielders Baktiera Zainutdinova and Zhedson Fernandes to the Russian club for 27.5 million euros, Sports.kz reports with reference to Sport-express.ru.
“We received offers for Zhedson and Zainutdinov even before the start of the transfer window. We wanted 22.5 million euros for Zhedson and 10 million euros for Zainutdinov. The vice president of Zenit arrived in Istanbul. We agreed on a total amount of 27.5 million euros. After this, rumors appeared that we were selling Zhedson for 5 million euros, since Benfica should receive 50 percent of the transfer fee, which is why the transfer failed.
