On August 2, 2027, the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century is expected to affect approximately 90 million people. It will cover southwestern Spain, North Africa and the Arabian Peninsula.

The path of the 2027 solar eclipse will begin in the Atlantic Ocean and then travel over 175 miles (275 km) of land, spanning the Strait of Gibraltar, southern Spain, Gibraltar and Morocco.
