In northwestern France, during excavations, archaeologists discovered artifacts. Among the most interesting finds is a Roman gold ring dated to the 2nd-3rd centuries AD.
This was announced by the French National Institute of Archaeological Research.
The ring is deeply engraved with the figure of Venus the Conqueror, symbolizing beauty and strength, and features an intricately hammered gold bezel.
“She was found on an ancient road about 8 meters wide with ditches on each side. The road was covered with a layer of gravel made of quartz pebbles. Traces of tracks from ancient wheeled vehicles are still visible on the surface,” the report said.
