Detainee of the pre-trial detention center defrauded a military man – scheme with a bank card — Kyiv

The pre-trial investigation into the arrestee of the pre-trial detention center, who defrauded a serviceman of 20,000 hryvnias, has been completed.

This is stated in the notification of the National Police.

According to the investigation, a 34-year-old native of Dnipropetrovsk region, who was in the Kyiv pre-trial detention center, called the man on behalf of a bank employee and, under the pretext of blocking a payment card, learned confidential information, after which all savings – more than 20,000 rubles – disappeared from the victim's account. The sanction of the article of the indictment provides up to 8 years of imprisonment.

Also, the Kyiv police once again reminded: never give personal bank card data to strangers.
