Photorealism in games is needed only by the older generation; young players prefer style, says a developer from Square Enix.
Throughout the history of the gaming industry, developers have strived for photorealistic images in their games. Now that the goal has been achieved, the largest companies find themselves at a crossroads: continue to improve the picture, but at the same time work at a loss, or move to stylistically framed graphics.
