Driving on a yellow light – how drivers will be punished — Ukraine


The corresponding bill 12172 was submitted by a group of people's deputies.

Drivers can be deprived of their rights for a period of 6 months to a year. This will happen if the driver is caught for the third time while crossing a pedestrian crossing at a yellow traffic light.

Thus, it is proposed to supplement Article 122 of the Code of Administrative Offenses with a norm, according to which a fine of 60 tax-free minimum incomes of citizens will be imposed. The amount is UAH 1,020. It will be used in the following cases:

  • Violation of pedestrian crossing, intersection, overtaking and oncoming traffic rules
  • driving at a traffic light prohibiting signal or a traffic controller's gesture
  • failure to give way to pedestrians at unregulated pedestrian crossings was committed by a person who was subject to an administrative penalty for the same…
