On Tuesday, December 24, a technical fault between the second floor and the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris led to the activation of a fire alarm and the evacuation of hundreds of visitors. According to French media, a short circuit in the elevator's electrical wiring was detected at about 10:50. As part of standard security procedures, all visitors were evacuated. No people were hurt.
