Every family in Norway received postcards with a list of supplies that people should stock up on in case of emergencies.

According to The Sunday Times, people are advised to keep bottled water, food, candles, a radio, cash and iodine tablets at home. A similar leaflet was published back in 2018, but now it has undergone changes. The head of Norway's Civil Protection Directorate, Elisabeth Aarsater, says this reflects increased security risks for the country.

“The 2018 brochure was published with a slight smile. Now it is no longer with a slight smile. This is reality. Six years ago we talked about three days of food and water, and now we are asking people to take care of themselves for one week, and this is due to greater uncertainty regarding climate change and the strategic, geopolitical situation.”
