Tea lovers are in for some bad news: by the end of the year, the price of black tea bags could rise by almost ten percent. The reason was Russia's dependence on tea imports: only 20 percent of the material for production is grown here, the rest has to be purchased abroad.
The unstable geopolitical situation, problems with logistics and unfavorable weather conditions have already led to an increase in prices for imported tea. For example, tea prices from India could rise by 20 percent due to drought.
The price will rise the most black tea bags. Elite varieties of green tea, pu-erh and oolong will rise in price more slowly, by a maximum of five percent.
