This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense. “On December 12, 2024, an explosion occurred at the Ostafyevo airfield in the Moscow region – the main power plant of the An-72 military transport aircraft, which belonged to the navy of the aggressor state, detonated,” the report says.
The Main Intelligence Directorate noted that the estimated cost of the disabled Russian aircraft is about $4.5 million.
“The GUR reminds that for every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people there will be fair retribution,” the message emphasizes.
