In Ukraine, law enforcement officers exposed five people who carried out arson at the behest of Russia. They set fire to military vehicles and administrative buildings, trying to make quick money.

In November 2024, a resident of Kyiv received an offer to set fire to a serviceman's car via Telegram for $1,000. He involved an acquaintance, and together they set fire to a car near the Akademmistechko metro station.
In August 2024, a girl in Poltava Oblast also received a similar offer via Telegram. She set fire to a serviceman's car that was parked near her home.
